JPCREC Dryer Policy

Beginning October 31, 2022, the JPCREC will implement new procedures for reserving and using the sample dryers located at JPC-Watkinsville and JPC-Iron Horse. Priority for dryer space will be given to PI’s whose samples originate at the location where drying is desired.

The process of reserving dryer space begins by completing and submitting a Qualtrics form:

Sample Dryer Reservation Form

Once the form is completed and approved, the appropriate calendar(s) will be populated with your reservation and you will receive a notification via the contact email you entered on the Qualtrics form that dryer space has been reserved for you. Check our calendars for availability.

Cost Recovery Fee

There will be a $3/day/dryer unit charge for drying samples. The fee will be calculated using the drying days that were entered on the Qualtrics form. For JPC-Watkinsville, a “dryer unit” is all the space behind an individual door in the drying room. For JPC-Iron Horse, a “dryer unit” is an individual dryer. This fee will help the JPCREC recover the costs associated with operating and maintaining the dryers.

Samples that are occupying dryers without a reservation will be removed from the dryers.

Samples that are left in the dryers after their reservation ends will be assessed a $10/day/dryer unit charge and will be removed when their presence in the dryer overlaps with an existing reservation.
